A still from an evolving simulation
Autoglyph — Metaglyph Series
A Metaglyph, from the Autoglyph archive
Constructed from an archive of over 25,000 images, photographs, and fragments collected across fifteen years of drifting through the city. Wall motifs, gargoyles, found photography, and civic symbols are drawn from the archive and recombined into a single totalising image — an attempt to hold the whole visual history of a place, past and present, inside one frame.
This print is a still from an evolving simulation, in which Exeter's visual history continually recoalesces into new arrangements, probing new formations for the city's civic mythology and visual identity. The moving version will be on public display soon.
Made to order. Please allow up to 7 days for printing, plus framing lead time if selected, before dispatch.
